⚫ Mini Othello Strategy
About this game
Mini Othello brings the elegant flipping mechanic of the classic board game Othello, also widely known as Reversi, onto a more compact six-by-six board, making for a shorter but no less strategic match than its full-size eight-by-eight cousin. You play black discs against a computer opponent playing white, and on each turn you must place a disc in a position that traps one or more of the opponent's discs between your new disc and another disc you already control, in a straight line in any direction, which instantly flips every trapped disc over to your own color. The board fills up quickly on the smaller grid, so the balance of power can swing dramatically within just a few moves, and the player who controls the most discs once the board is completely full, or once neither side has any legal move remaining, wins the game outright. Strong play favors controlling corners and edges over grabbing discs in the center early, since corner discs can never be flipped back by an opponent, making them powerful long-term anchors even though the temptation to flip as many discs as possible on any single turn is often the wrong instinct.
