🂡 War (Card Game) Classic
About this game
War is one of the simplest and most enduring card games ever devised, requiring no strategy or decision-making whatsoever, and has been a favorite way for generations of players to pass the time using nothing more than a standard deck of fifty-two playing cards split evenly between two players. At the start of the game, the deck is shuffled and dealt out equally, twenty-six cards to you and twenty-six cards to the computer, and every round both players simultaneously flip over the top card of their own personal deck, with the higher-valued card winning the round and both cards being collected by the winner and placed at the bottom of their deck, growing their pile for future rounds. On the rare occasion that both flipped cards share the exact same value, a tie known traditionally as war occurs, and in this simplified version both matching cards are simply returned to the bottom of their respective original decks rather than triggering an elaborate multi-card standoff, keeping the pace brisk and the outcome fair. The game continues round after round until one player has collected every single card in the entire fifty-two card deck, or their opponent runs completely out of cards to flip, deciding a winner purely through the natural, unpredictable rhythm of the shuffle.
