🎯 Mastermind Strategy
About this game
Mastermind is a classic code-breaking board game first published in the early 1970s that has challenged logical thinkers for decades with its elegant deduction mechanic. At the start of every game, the computer secretly selects a hidden code made up of four colored pegs, chosen from a palette of six possible colors, and your goal is to figure out the exact code, both the correct colors and their correct positions, using as few guesses as possible within a maximum of ten attempts. After every guess you submit, the game gives you precise feedback in the form of small black and white pegs: a black peg means one of your chosen colors is not only correct but sitting in exactly the right position, while a white peg means a color you chose is somewhere in the secret code, just in the wrong spot. Skilled players treat every guess as a genuine logical experiment, deliberately choosing combinations that will reveal the maximum amount of new information rather than simply guessing at random, gradually narrowing the space of possible codes with each round of feedback until the solution becomes obvious. Cracking the code within your ten attempts is an immensely satisfying triumph of pure deduction.
